Life of Fred High School Level Language Arts Courses
Having logged in eight or more years learning grammar and writing skills, your now high school student just might be wondering, "Why in the world do I need MORE instruction in Language Arts? A noun will always be a noun, an adjective an adjective, a verb a verb, and a subject and predicate of a sentence and the organization of a well written paragraph will always follow the same patterns. Correct? What more do I need to know? Let Fred teach you.In these days of atrocious usage of the English language, a slaughtering of sentence structure, and a general dumbing down of communication skills on the internet, in the news and in the written and spoken word in general, one must keep in touch with the foundations of excellence. Just about anyone can communicate at some level, even if that be mediocre. Who wants mediocrity? Certainly not you nor your child or student.
Don't be left behind.
Introducing: Life of Fred Language Arts
No other textbooks are like these. Each text is written in the style of a novel with a humorous story line. Each section tells part of the life of Fred Gauss and how, in the course of his life, he encounters the need for understanding the simplicities and often the complexities of the English language. Each hardcover textbook contains ALL of the material – more than most instructors cover in traditional classroom setting. There are four books in the series. It is recommended that each of the four volumes be studied during each year of high school studies to prepare the student for life.
Written by Dr. Stanley Schmidt with the intent to make the English language come alive with lots of humour, clear explanations, and silly illustrations that stick in the mind. The student will learn to think and to communicate effectively while also learning often little known but interesting facts in the areas of geography, history, music, science and much more. If you have enjoyed Life of Fred Math be prepared for more of the same zany but insightful and effective training methods.
NOTE: Superior usage of language is an art. A true artist never stops learning and honing skills.
These four books are short. Each contains 19 daily lessons. Since each lesson contains so much material, doing these four books once a year during your high school years would be a really good idea.

IMPORTANT NOTE: These books are designed to make the reader THINK! Each of the 19 chapters in each book is a daily lesson. There are about four pages about the adventures of Fred and a Your Turn to Play. Each Your Turn to Play consists of about three or four questions. After all the questions are answered, then take a peek at the answers that are given on the next page. Don’t just read the questions and look at the answers. You won’t learn as much that way.
